A Proven 'Start To Finish' Process That Gives You Peace of Mind and a Dream Result
Everybody’s starting point in the kitchen renovation process is slightly different.
Some have had a new kitchen designed and installed before. Others are novices. Some call in an “expert” immediately. Others do enough homework to get a bachelor’s degree in kitchens.
Wherever you are at, we work with you in the way that you are most comfortable.
It’s your home. It’s your kitchen. Yes, we are the experts and will advise you on many different aspects to ensure the process is as seamless as possible, and enjoyable - but we respect the fact that this is your kitchen.
There are, however, some common steps we lead you through to ensure you get the very best kitchen that you can get – with the very best end result.
Check out the videos and content below to get a good idea of the proven documented process we use that's led to an ever-growing list of delighted customers.
1. Visit A Showroom
Visiting a showroom is vital so you can get a real feel for what's possible in the design and function of your new kitchen. We've got three showrooms - with more than 20 full kitchen displays - in Oakleigh, Nunawading and Essendon.
2. In-home Design Appointment
The most important stage of the renovation process. Our designers bring their expertise to guide you towards the very best kitchen that not only reflects you, but also suits the style of your home.
3. Check Measure, Manufacture and Installation
Once you're happy with your design, it's time to start planning the build of your new kitchen. That begins with a "check measure", then materials are ordered from our factory followed by the installation itself. And then your dream becomes reality.
4. Great Customer Service
Customer service is everything to us - from the moment you first call or walk into one of our showrooms to years after your kitchen is finished, when you might have a warranty issue. We're fanatical about making and keeping our customers happy.

The designer’s ideas and enthusiasm for the job helped persuade us to go for it. The kitchen was more than we’d budgeted for but after we saw the design we thought ‘let’s spend the money and do this properly’. The post sale service was also great. The level of care at all stages from Mark and the team is something I haven’t seen from other businesses.
Our Kitchen Renovation Process in Detail
1. Visit A Showroom
Visiting a showroom is one of the most important steps in this process. Some people ask if we come out to your home before they visit a showroom. We will, but don’t recommend it.
By not getting a feel for the many aspects of kitchen design in a dedicated showroom, you miss out on one of the most vital parts of the process.
Benefits of visiting a showroom:
- You get to see the quality of our work
- You get to meet us to see if you like us and trust us
- You get to see current fittings and finishes
Kitchens have changed dramatically over the last few years, let alone the last 10‐20 years – the probable age of the kitchen you want to renovate.
In our showrooms you can see the fantastic choice of:
- Different benchtops, splashbacks, door finishes and lighting options.
- Current finishes and design options
Our Nunawading showroom has nine kitchens on display, one European laundry and two bathroom vanities.
Our Essendon showroom has eight full kitchens on display, a Butlers Pantry, laundry, bathroom vanities, colour room and a range of pantry options.
Our Oakleigh showroom is our newest showroom. It currently has five display kitchens but will soon have seven plus a bathroom.

2. In-home Design Appointment
This is without a doubt the most important part of the process. Every home is different. Every person is different.
If 10 people were to renovate the same house, there would be 10 different results.
And the home your are renovating is your home.
Our charge for the design appointment. We ask you to make us a cup of coffee.
But we don’t charge a design fee. Why is that?
Well, you choose us, we don’t choose you.
- We need to get the design perfect for you.
- We need to get the price somewhere near where you want it to be.
- And you need to feel comfortable with us.
Prior to this appointment, we’ll tell you that we can definitely achieve two out of those three things.
But it can’t be about what we say. It has to be about what we do.
Therefore, we don’t charge a design fee.
Experience is Key
Our designers are some of the most professional and experienced designers in the industry.
A big part of the criteria for our designers is that they ask lots of questions and actually listen to what is important to you.
We will bring professional advice. We will bring everything to the table to ensure that you end up with the very best kitchen that not only reflects you, but also suits the style of your home.
3. Check Measure, Manufacture and Installation
We are not a high pressure selling based company.
Sure, we would love to have your business, but we believe that people buy when they are ready to buy.
We need to get the design right, the price right, and establish a proven process that you are comfortable with.
When you decide to have a Rosemount kitchen, we ask one of our technical reps – commonly known in the industry as our “check measurer” – to call you and organise a time to visit you to go through every detail of your new kitchen.
Things go wrong with kitchens because of misunderstandings and miscommunication.
And that’s something we do everything to avoid at Rosemount, through crystal clear communication at all stages and a proven documented process that leaves no room for doubt.
That ensures the installation process brings no surprises, and is a pleasant formality.
The check measurer will meet with you in your home, go through every aspect in fine detail and will then prepare final working drawings.
After this is concluded, your kitchen is ordered from our factory.
Manufacturing times vary based on the door material used.
- Colour Board ‐ 3‐4 weeks from ordering
- High Gloss Board ‐ 4 weeks from ordering
- Thermolaminated ‐ 4‐5 weeks from ordering
- 2 Pack ‘flat’ ‐ 4‐5 weeks from ordering
- 2 Pack ‘profiled’ ‐ 5‐6 weeks from ordering
- Timber ‐ 4‐6 weeks from ordering
Installation Dates:
Once the kitchen is ordered, we agree an installation date at your earliest convenience from when we have it ready.
- A “standard installation” will normally take initially 2‐4 days to have the cabinets installed.
- Stone benchtops are templated normally on day 3-4, and take a further 7‐10 working days to fabricate.
- The electrician can fit off his work on or after day 4 of the installation
- 24 hours after the stonetops are on, the plumber can fit off and the glass splashbacks can be templated ‐ the kitchen is usable at this point.
- Glass splashbacks take 7‐10 working days to fabricate
Variations of this process are affected by structural work, and flooring etc.
4. Great Customer Service
From start to finish - and beyond - we always aim to go the extra mile to make sure our customer is happy.
Renovations are complex with many moving parts so a good process is just as important, if not more so, than the end result. When we get reviewed by customers, it's often the experience they talk about most - because a renovation is a significant inconvenience in your life, even when it goes really well.
We've developed proven processes and systems that minimise the risk of things going awry and maximise the potential for a positive renovation experience.
Communication is a big part of that. We'll call you up just to check if everything's going OK. If you or we encounter a small issue early, it'll get fixed quickly rather than fester and become a major issue down the line.
Our philosophy is simple. We're only happy when the customer is 100% happy and we'll work on all the details to make sure that is the case. If you have a warranty five years after your kitchen is installed, we'll be there to fix it straight away.
Customer service is everything to us. And when we say that, we really mean it.
